More than a “Few” South Africans
The “Madagascar Campaign”, triggered by concerns the French Colony off Africa’s East Coast would be handed to the Japanese as their warships and submarines were using Diego Suarez harbour was preceded by reconnaissance sorties flown by Major’s Bert Rademan and Ken Jones in SAAF Maryland’s during March and started on May 5th, 1942.
